Background:

Qinghai Zhongkong 50MW CSP Station is one of the first batch of CSP generation demonstration projects in China and the first tower molten salt energy storage CSP station in the world whose actual annual power generation exceeds the designed annual power generation. With an installed capacity of 50MW, the power station features a heliostat field with a total light collection area of 542,700 square meters and a 7-hour molten salt energy storage system, which can save approximately 46,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 121,000 tons annually.
